What Are Molded Rubber Products?

How They're Made :-

They are typically produced using three main molding methods: -

Compression Molding- rubber is compressed in a heated mold.

Transfer Molding- rubber is forced into a mold under pressure.

Injection Molding- heated rubber is injected directly into the mold.

What is Extrusion Rubber Products?

Rubber extrusion molding is a manufacturing process where a rubber compound is forced through a die to create a continuous profile with a specific cross-section. This method is used to produce various rubber products like seals, hoses, and gaskets. The process involves feeding the rubber compound into an extruder, which then pushes it through a shaped die, resulting in the desired profile.

The Process:-

1. Material Preparation:
A rubber compound, chosen based on the desired properties (e.g.,EPDM, silicone, natural rubber), is prepared for extrusion.

2. Extrusion:
The rubber compound is fed into an extruder, which is a machine with a heated barrel and a rotating screw.

3. Die Shaping:
The rubber is forced through a die, a shaped opening that determines the profile of the final product.

4. Cooling and Curing:
The extruded rubber is then cooled and may be vulcanized (cured) to enhance its properties and durability.

What is Metal-bonded rubber Products?

Metal-bonded rubber molding is a manufacturing process where rubber is permanently joined to a metal component during the molding process. This creates a strong, durable bond, combining the flexibility of rubber with the rigidity of metal. It's widely used in various industries to produce components that require both properties, such as vibration dampers, seals, and mounts.

The Process:-

1. Metal Preparation:
The metal component is cleaned and prepared to ensure a strong bond with the rubber. This often involves degreasing and surface treatment.

2. Adhesive Application:
A heat-activated adhesive or bonding agent is applied to the metal surface.

3. Molding:
The prepared metal component is placed into the mold, and the rubber is injected or molded around it.

4. Bonding:
The adhesive is activated, typically by heat and pressure, to create a permanent bond between the rubber and the metal.

5. Curing:
The rubber is cured, solidifying the bond and completing the part.
